ASI NOVA BASE

Avient ASI Nova Base is a multi-purpose special effect plastisol ink base designed for creating dry-flake glitter effects and other textured print surfaces. When mixed with glitter particles, Nova Base penetrates the fabric, leaving the glitter exposed and dry to the touch while helping it retain sharp edges, clarity, and brilliance. It can be printed on light or dark 100% cotton, cotton blends, and some synthetic fabrics.

Printing Tips

• Mix in up to 15% glitter particles, depending on the particle size and desired effect. A particle size of .008" × .008" is recommended.
• Use consistent, high-tension mesh and a sharp-edged squeegee for the best results.
• Print Nova Base last in the sequence, or flash after each print when using multiple screens.
• Use a heavy flood stroke followed by light-to-medium squeegee pressure. Excessive pressure may leave too little base on the surface for proper glitter adhesion.
• For a dry-flake effect, print the Nova Base and glitter mixture directly onto the fabric.
• For a glossier appearance, print the mixture over a flash-dried base plate.
• Metallic particles reflect infrared heat. A forced-air dryer is recommended; extend dwell time when using an electric dryer.

• Stroke: Hard flood with a medium print stroke

• Off Contact: 1/16" (0.2 cm)
• Flash Temperature: 220°F (105°C)
• Cure Temperature: 270°F (132°C) throughout the entire ink film
• Cure Range: 270°F-320°F (132°C-160°C)

• Up to 10% Rutland C3 Boosters

Storage and Cleanup

Store at 65°F-90°F (18°C-32°C), avoid direct sunlight, and use within one year of receipt. Clean screens and equipment with standard plastisol ink cleaners, press wash, or ink degradant.

Always test the ink, glitter mixture, fabric, and curing conditions before beginning production.
