Printing Tips

• Use 86–230 mesh screens for optimal performance and opacity.
• For best results, use a print-flash-print technique to ensure sufficient ink deposit on dark fabrics.
• For challenging polyester fabrics, use Union Ink UPLC1550 Low Cure Barrier Grey or UPLC8550 Barrier Black as a base layer for maximum bleed resistance.
• Adjust flash cure temperature and dwell time so the ink is just dry to the touch. Avoid excessive flash temperatures that can promote dye migration. A 3–5 second flash is typically adequate.
• Pre-shear or agitate the ink before use to achieve optimal flow. Avoid high-speed drills or mixing equipment that generate friction heat and may begin curing the ink.
• Use medium to low pressure and adjust as the ink shears down during production.
• Curing is a time-and-temperature process. Lower temperatures combined with slower belt speeds often provide the best results while protecting the fabric.
